Hallmark SocialCalendar App Launches Today on Facebook
Hallmark is expanding its brand experience online with the launch today of Hallmark SocialCalendar. Hallmark inked a deal with Newput Corporation, the Sunnyvale, California, developer of the SocialCalendar Facebook application, to create products and content that make it easy for people to remember and acknowledge events and occasions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The four new products debuting at launch are Hallmark Wall Wishes, ARTICUL8(TM) cards, virtual gifts and calendar icons. Hallmark Wall Wishes are bite-size animated designs that can be combined with a personalized message and posted on a friend’s Facebook Wall. All of the products, which consumers can purchase with Facebook Credits, are designed to stand out on the Facebook Wall with meaningful messages.
“Millions of consumers look to Hallmark to help them connect with the important people in their lives,” said Paul Barker, Vice President – Hallmark Digital. “We’re excited about the relationship with SocialCalendar because it makes it so easy to remember birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays and acknowledge them when you’re online.”
“Hallmark is taking the SocialCalendar experience to the next level,” said Raj Lalwani, SocialCalendar co-founder and CEO. “They fundamentally understand relationships and people’s need to connect. Hallmark created new products specifically for the Facebook environment that add meaning and reflect the nature of the relationship.”
Hallmark SocialCalendar, which launched in February 2008 as SocialCalendar, is a leading Facebook App with more than 13 million total users and over 2 million monthly active users. It is also one of ten applications accepting Facebook Credits. Facebook Credits are purchased by consumers at a rate of 10 for one dollar.
“Today’s launch announcement expands Hallmark’s brand presence in the digital space,” Barker said. “As digital technology expands the ways people connect with each other, Hallmark wants to be there to help. In the past few months, we announced Hallmark’s first e-card subscription plan, a new selection of holiday personalized greeting cards, Hallmark Mobile Greetings and new personalized photo plates. We’re on a roll.”
