Final Week: 2009 Mobile Star Awards deadline is November 13
Want to have a voice in nominating and choosing this year’s most amazing mobile and wireless hardware and software? You don’t have to be an expert or a lobbyist. The eighth annual Mobile Star Awards™ program lets you nominate and vote for your favorite mobile and wireless gadgets, applications, and even visionary leaders. Voting for this year’s entrants takes place now until noon EST on November 19, 2009 on the mobile news and events site MobileVillage.com.
As in years past, this year’s Mobile Star Awards competition will showcase over a hundred entrants in dozens of “best of” categories covering wireless gadgets, mobile email and messaging, voice services, GPS services, wireless networking solutions, enterprise success stories, technology visionaries, and more. This year’s entrants include big names such as Lexar, Novatel Wireless, Sybase and VeriSign, as well as smaller, innovative startup companies.
To qualify to vote, you only need to take a few seconds to subscribe online to MobileVillage’s free “Go Mobile™” email newsletter. ”Go Mobile” delivers headlines and links to the top mobile technology stories from popular websites such as Cnet, Engadget, Gizmodo, PC Magazine, Computerworld, AppScout, and others. With almost ten years of history under its belt, “Go Mobile” is published every two to three weeks and boasts thousands of readers.
“Because ‘Go Mobile’ readers are the industry’s most savvy mobile business users, Mobile Star Awards winners can claim they are the users’ choice,” says Jon Covington, MobileVillage founder and president. ”Winners are chosen by real users based on real results, not hype. Brand new mobile services can compete on equal footing with well-established solutions, and the both nominees and winners are respected in the mobile industry as the new leaders to watch.”
During most of the voting period, voters can write in their votes for products that aren’t yet on the ballot, the nominees are contacted, and new entrants are added until November 13, 2009. Award winners will be announced in late November.
“Entrants win even if they don’t end up winning,” according to awards program director Gary Thayer. ”That’s because the Mobile Star Awards program can give them recognition for their products and success stories that might otherwise go unrecognized.”
