A new iPhone App in the iTunes App Store: ‘LockGenie’ by developer Robot Woods enables users to recover a lock combination that they have lost or forgotten.

The LockGenie iPhone Application, now available in the iTunes App Store, allows the user to recover a lost or forgotten combination to the most popular combination lock.

Scores of parents, students, and athletes are familiar with the experience of buying yet another combination lock for the gym or locker each school year or season. Now, in a process generally lasting under ten minutes, LockGenie guides the user through a information gathering process about the lock, and then generates a short series of combinations likely to open the lock. Users of

LockGenie have reported:

  • “…empt[ied]a junk drawer full of old locks”
  • “…about to go buy a new lock for my storage unit until I found this application.”
  • “…my daughters had a couple of locks hanging around with no combo and we were able to open them with the help of this app!”
Conceived of by a parent, LockGenie is applicable to a wide range of audiences: teachers and coaches wanting to help their locked out students and players, students and players themselves, gym owners to help their attendees, and essentially anyone that uses a combination lock. Not only does LockGenie recover a forgotten combination, it will then store it for easy retrieval later.

In the short time LockGenie has been available, it has been used hundreds of times across the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, and globally in countries including: Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Iran, and others.
